New CGC Forum
I have set up a new forum for club members to air their views and put forward suggestions to improve the club, ask other members for help with technical issues and generally have a chat.
The new forum is on the same lines as the old one but the software is much improved, use of avatars is allowed as well as posting of pictures and files. There is also a calendar function which allow all users to promote up coming events.
You will have to register to use it, users will only be allowed to register using their REAL NAME, there is a function to use a nickname as a display name. Any accounts registered using a nickname will not be approved. Real names speed up the verification process and protects the privacy of the forum. If you are registered on the old forum you will have to re register on the new one
The forums will be private and only registered users will be allowed to see any of the discussions. When you register, your account will be activated when your status as a club member has been verified. Be patient as the verification process may take a few days.
The forums will be moderated, foul language will not be tolerated nor 'flaming' of other users - robust opinions are always welcome
You can get to the forum by following this link - New CGC Forum

| Survey
Sport England has commissioned a survey of sports people.
The (very short) survey is HERE
More details are availableHERE
Perhaps we need to let them know how many people take part in shooting, and how often - it may surprise them!

| Theft On the Range
To all concerned, if any member or a member of the public is found to be removing any of the clubs assets including lead from the backstop without express permission in writing from the committee, the police will be informed and they will be prosecuted in the courts. Recently, an adult and four children we found mining lead from the back stop on Friday 20th February. This action puts our backstop in jeopardy, large holes can undermine the backstop and could cause the range to be closed. The police have been notified.
In future, if any member notices criminal behavior, then do not confront the person or persons concerned, just telephone the Police and wait for their arrival.

NRA CERTIFICATION
Any person wishing to shoot on an NRA or Military range will need to be certificated for each gun used.
The certificate is mandatory from 1st January 2009.
The Chairman is the only one in this club that will be able to sign the certificates.
Without this certificate you will not be able to shoot long distance. You have been warned.
